Sonderborg Hub ready to help automation companies

Now the many robotic companies in the Sonderborg area can look forward to more help to develop new technologies and increase their competitiveness. This week, Odense Robotics opens its regional hub in Sonderborg in close collaboration with Sønderborg Vækstråd. The Hub will help realise the large potential in the area by giving local robot, automation and drone companies better opportunities to accelerate their innovation and growth.
The aim with Odense Robotics’ new hub in Sonderborg is to help robot, automation and drone companies in Sønderjylland, Southern Jutland and Southwest Jutland with innovation and business development. In addition, companies will have the opportunity to get closer to new collaboration partners in other parts of Denmark by being part of Odense Robotics’ strong ecosystem, which today has more than 130 members across the country.
“The opening of Odense Robotics’ hub in Sonderborg means that there is now more help at hand for the many robot, automation and drone companies in the area. The hub will create new opportunities for innovation and growth – and not least provide access to Odense Robotics’ strong national ecosystem, where companies can meet new partners. We aim to realise this potential in close collaboration with Sønderborg Vækstråd for the benefit of individual businesses and the industry regionally and nationally,” says Bongki Engel, Business Development Manager, Odense Robotics.
The new hub is open to all companies in the municipialities in Jutland that lie within Region Southern Denmark – companies that work with robotics, automation and drone technology. The Hub is established with support from Bitten & Mads Clausens’ Foundation.
Many benefits
By joining the cluster, either free of charge or as a paid member, companies can gain access to a range of projects and activities in the Sonderborg Hub. There are indeed considerable benefits with being a member of the cluster and participating in the local activities, says, Per Lachenmeier, CEO at EasyRobotics.
“The Sonderborg area is home to a wide range of companies that develop innovative and market leading automation solutions. The regional hub will create better opportunities for local events, company visits and knowledge sharing. It will also enable companies to develop future robot and automation solutions in collaboration with other partners, says Lachenmeier.
There is already strong support from companies to the cluster and the new hub in Sonderborg. Since the national cluster was established in January, an increasing number of companies from Sønderjylland, Southern Jutland and Southwest Jutland have become members of the cluster: Beckhoff Automation, Danfoss Drives, EasyRobotics, ElastiSense, Hannemann Engineering, Harting, Pilz Scandinavien, Rotorcam, Scandinavian Avionics, TECH ASSIST. In addition, EUC Syd is also a member.
Network coming soon
To ensure a good start for the hub in Sonderborg, a working group has been established comprising of companies, EUC Syd, EASV and SDU. Companies in the group are: Alsmatik, Danfoss Drives, EasyRobotics, GCM and Pehama Productions.
The group will among other things outline themes and activities for the future network meetings for members. At the network meetings, companies and knowledge insitutions will have the chance to network, gain insights and explore new opportunities to strengthen their technology and business.
“I am very please that Odense Robotics’ hub in Sonderborg is now ready to work with companies here in our offices at Sønderborg Vækstråd. We look forward to helping local robot, automation and drone companies with their tech and business development – and be an important part of Denmark’s national robot industry. The new hub will be an attractive setup for robot, automation and drone companies here in the area, says Michael Hamann, director at Sønderborg Vækstråd.
