Enabling technologies – combine more robot and sensor technologies to solve new tasks
Which technologies are needed to enable multi-robot systems in new domains? And how do we secure communication and data sharing between the systems? Those are the answers you will get when participating at the upcoming webinar 30 June.
Usually outdoor mobile robots work alone on specialised tasks – in contrast to fleets of indoor mobile robots that work together on a common assignment such as a logistics task. The Odense Robotics collaboration project “Enabling technology for multi-robot systems” has explored whether multi-robot systems working together can pave the way for faster implementation of robots into new domains.
Through the project, the Danish Technological Institute and Aalborg University collaborated with nine partners from Holo, BrainBotics, Capra Robotics, COBOD, Data Business Solutions, Desupervised, Lorenz Technology, Meili Robots and Robotto Co to obtain a deeper understanding of the technologies required to enable new use cases and quick implementation.
The project has explored multi-robot systems as a combination of mobile robots and airborne drones with sensors like:
- 3D lidar
- Hyperspectral cameras
- RGB depth cameras
- GPS
- IMU
With the purpose of data sharing and re-use of data between the platforms to heighten their environmental understanding.
