bcm transtech develops digital layout generator
bcm transtech has found a way to innovate and accelerate their sales processes with the revolutionary “bcmart” – a new autonomous layout generator that allows the company to quickly and efficiently create layout solutions based on the customers’ needs. Developed through the innovation project DigitaliseringsBoost, the new solution saves months of man hours and resources – while fast-tracking the sales process.
bcm transtech makes storage solutions for corrugated board companies to store their several thousands of printing plates, sleeves and dies. Every time bcm transtech creates a storage solution for a customer it requires various meetings regarding the company’s needs – materials, tools and capacity – often taking several months to define and several versions of the layout sketch before production can start. With their new solution and first of its kind bcmart, bcm transtech can reconfigurate a complete storage layout through just one meeting with the customer.
“bcmart allows us to within minutes create a customised storage solution based on the customer’s needs. This has been a game-changer for bcm transtech, saving months of man hours and resources. We can now deliver faster and high-quality solutions to our customers, shortening the sales process considerably,” says Morten Arndal Nielsen, CCO at bcm transtech.
By inserting the customer’s requirements into the bcmart system and using the interface on their website, bcm transtech creates the layout that is used when constructing the customised storage solution.
Bringing the innovation to life
bcmart was developed through the innovation project DigitaliseringBoost, run by Odense Robotics and Business Hub Fyn, through which bcm transtech gained access to financing and application guidance.
bcm transtech collaborated with companies Hesehus and SikaMatec on developing the interface software and website. Design School Kolding delivered feedback on the project’s setup and user interface, and conducted interviews in various languages with international distributors, who helped test the usability of the solution.
Currently covering 80% of their market, bcm transtech still hopes to further develop the bcmart to reach new industries by offering many more types of storage solutions in the future.
“bcmart has the potential to reach many industries, something we want to further develop in the future,” says Arndal.
